Legacy modernization, without losing what still works.
Government agencies run on decades of accumulated systems: mainframe, DB2, a sprawl of Microsoft Access databases nobody wants to touch. The work here has been moving that off onto a governed, modern data warehouse one domain at a time, financial reporting first, then infrastructure asset data, without breaking what the agency depends on today.
Systems — FIG. 01
What this connects to.
The legacy stack most government agencies are still standing on, modernized in place.

Delivered — FIG. 02
What's been built, at the pattern level.
- Financial reporting modernization, procurement and bid-reporting data moved off legacy DB2/mainframe and Microsoft Access silos onto a governed SQL Server data warehouse.
- Infrastructure asset data mart, a dimensional model and ETL pipeline for statewide bridge inspection and condition-rating data, supporting infrastructure reporting.
- Full Microsoft BI stack delivery, Kimball dimensional modeling, SSIS ETL, SSAS OLAP cubes, and SSRS/SharePoint reporting, replacing ad hoc Access-based reporting.
- Grew the engagement from sole consultant to a 4-person team as the platform gained adoption and scope expanded across multiple departments, then handed off cleanly to a successor lead; the client relationship continued for years beyond.
